The IRMA MATRIX sensor represents a cutting-edge solution for passenger counting. Leveraging 3D Time-of-Flight Technology, it accurately measures distances from objects through a matrix of 500 pixels, ensuring extremely reliable counting regardless of ambient lighting conditions. Thanks to its high resolution, the sensor can go beyond simple counting, distinguishing between passengers and bulky objects such as wheelchairs, strollers, or bicycles, thus providing detailed data on the type of load present on board. For data transmission, the device offers real-time connectivity via Ethernet or CAN, allowing immediate sending of collected information to onboard systems or the cloud for timely analysis. Installation is flexible, being available in both flush-mounted and surface-mounted versions, and requires no manual adjustments, simplifying setup and maintenance operations. Finally, its robustness and reliability are ensured by a die-cast aluminum housing and polycarbonate optical openings, making it capable of effectively withstanding the stresses of daily use in public transport.
